      Courteney Bass Prichard

      Courteney Bass Pritchard, 86, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on the morning of December 9th, 2020. Courteney was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 15th, 1934. She was a long-standing member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Courteney is survived by her four children, Virginia; Richard; Dottie; and Courteney. She leaves behind twelve grandchildren. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, 801 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233 and the Birmingham Humane Society, 300 Snow Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209. Courteney loved music, especially the music of Elton John. The closing words from "Your Song" summarize how her friends and family felt about her: "How wonderful life is, while you're in the world."
