July 15, 2005 Lee Horace Bass, 81, passed away July 15, 2005 at Beverly Healthcare Center in Southaven. He was a resident of Lula. Mr. Bass was born April 3, 1924 in Lula to the late B. Hampton Bass Sr. and Lula Davenport Bass. He was the retired owner of Bass Oil Company and had been self-employed in the trucking industry. He was a member and deacon at Lula Baptist Church. He was also the music director for several years at the church. Survivors include his wife, Artie Mae Bass of Lula; daughter, Linda Gae Stoddard of Horn Lake; two grandsons, Richard David Stoddard of Horn Lake and Tommy Lee Stoddard of Olive Branch; six great-grandchildren and several nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lula Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Castillo and Rev. Ivan Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Barbee Cemetery in Lula. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home in Clarksdale.
