Gladys Etoy Mask Bass
Gladys Mask Bass, 79, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Lee County to William Farris Mask and Minnie Boxx Mask. She was a former resident of Pontotoc County. She was a retired seamstress for Reed Manufacturing, where she worked for 42 years. She was a member of Furrs Baptist Church. She married Morris H. Bass on Oct. 26, 1935.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Verona with the Rev. Milton Wright officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Morris H. Bass of Tupelo; a daughter, Betty Baldwyn, and her husband, Harold, of Tupelo; a son, Wayne Bass, and his wife, Doris, of Tupelo; a sister, Ruby West of Shannon; two brothers, Harold Mask, and Porter Mask and his wife, Jane, all of Shannon; a sister-in-law, Lola Butler of Furrs; three grandchildren, Marlon Baldwyn and his wife, Anisa, Curtis Bass and his wife, Brenda, and Brad Bass and his wife, Nina; six great-grandchildren, Bryant and Blake Baldwyn, Jeremy, Brittny and Molly Bass, and Neal May.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clay, Will X. and Carter Mask; and several half sisters and half brothers.
Pallbearers will be Marlon Baldwyn, Curtis Bass, Brad Bass, Larry Copling, Harold Mask Jr. and Larry Clay Mask.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.
