Cecil Wayne Bass Cecil Wayne Bass, 66, of Dothan, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness. Visitation will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 6 until 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home at 10 A.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2012, with Reverends Hosea Parker and Ricky Plummer officiating. Interment following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Wayne was born April 20, 1945, in rural Geneva County to the late Cecil and Opal Bass. He was retired after 33 years of employment to AAA Cooper Transportation. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra Kirkland Bass; son, Richard Bass of Dothan; grandchildren, Courtney Bass Hall (Matt) and Whitney Bass all of Dothan; great-grand-child, Braylon Hall of Dothan; sister, Wanda Shelley of Slocomb; sister-in-law, Linda Foran of Dothan; brother-in-law, Mike Kirkland (Janice) of Dothan. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Hall, Mike Kirkland, Russell Barnes, Doug Kirkland, Steve Nall, and Keith Nall. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Strawder and Braylon Hall. A special thank you to Covenant Hospice of Dothan. Love ones are also welcomed to visit the family's home during this time of loss.
