Jan Parrish Bass of Colcord, OK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She went to be with her Lord and was greeted with opened arms by family and friends who were awaiting her arrival.
Family and friends of Jan Bass are cordially invited to her visitation from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Rice Funeral Home 631 E. Will Rogers Blvd. in Claremore. Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 1304 N. Dorothy, Claremore, OK with the Father Sylvanus Amaobi officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore, OK.
Jan was born on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to the late Ralph Parrish, Jr. and Mildred Brown Aubrey Parrish.
Jan loved to be in the kitchen and was a wonderful cook. She delighted in having huge family gatherings on the holidays. Her family and friends gave her special joy, each treasuring their special moments with her. She was very close to her mother whom she took care of for several years.
Jan was a devoted animal lover and loved riding horses with her husband, Stephen, when she found time in her busy day. She was a best friend to her children and uncommonly generous to others. She loved to crochet and knit.
In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Janie Satterfield and a fur baby she loved dearly, Fred.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Stephen; sons Ron Casteel and wife Connie; Randall Hattox and his wife Rachael; one daughter Kimberly Hattox; two sisters, Teresa Aubrey and Gloria Hammond and husband, Karl; nephew Anthony Ross and wife Kimberly, nephew Joshua Ross and wife Jenny, niece Lisa Eddy and husband Eric; special sister-in-law, Margaret Skidmore and her late husband Ken; cousins Michael Adams and Steve Adams and wife; and special friend Mysteri David and family; a fur baby named Buttons; and many many friends.
