Norman Stanley Bass
Norman Stanley Bass, 74, Kansas City, formerly of Independence, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at the Barry Health Care Center.
Mr. Bass was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Independence and was a lifelong area resident. He had been a self-employed carpenter for many years and had worked for Andes and Roberts Construction Co. He was a Navy veteran and attended Blue Ridge Baptist Church.
His survivors include a son, Randy Bass, Independence; a daughter, Sherrie Curts, Blue Springs; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the AlzheimerÕs Association, Heartland Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, Kan. 66208.
