Mabel I. Bass, 101, Cole Camp, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at the God Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.
Mrs. Bass was born Oct. 23, 1898, in Moberly, Mo., and spend most of her years in Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Bass in 1980, one daughter, Frances McClenahan, and one son-in-law, Leon Lewis.
Her survivors include a daughter, Catherine Lewis, Blue Springs; one son, Kenneth Bass and wife, Carol Sue, LeeÕs Summit; one sister, Marie Webb, Cole Camp; a son-in-law, Jim McClenahan, LeeÕs Summit; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at D.W. NewcomerÕs Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice or to your favorite charity.
