He was born on Nov. 9, 1912, in Princeton to William and Emma Johnson Bass. He married Verda Lee Gray Bass on Feb. 27, 1932, in Durant, Okla. He was a farmer and dairyman, and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by daughter Rheta Lawson and husband Bill of McKinney; son Roy Lee Bass and wife Joy of Denison; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, three brothers; two sisters and two grandchildren. Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Altoga Cemetery in Princeton with the Rev. Roger Berghauser officiating. Interment will follow at Altoga Cemetery.
