Charlene Bass And W.D. Smith Exchange Vows
Miss Joyce Charlene Bass became the bride of William Douglas Smith in a double-ring ceremony at the marriage chapel in Dillon, S.C., on Friday evening, June 14, at 8 o?clock.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Betty J. Bass and the late George Bass of Lumberton. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Simon Franklin Smith, also of Lumberton.
For the ceremony the bride wore a floor-length gown of white nylon with blue and green floral print trimmed in green ribbons and Old English lace and fashioned with empire wait, V-neckline and short puffed sleeves. she carried a nosegay of baby carnations encircled by white lace and showered with blue streamers.
The bride is a student at Littlefield High School, from which her husband was graduated in 1969. He is employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Since their return from a wedding trip to the coast, Mr. and Mrs. Smith are at home in Lumberton.
RECEPTION
The mother of the bride will entertain the bridal couple at a reception at her home, 1214 McArthur Street, on Sunday, June 23, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
All friends a relatives of the couple are invited to attend.
