Mrs. Dora Etta Bass Rites Set For Sunday
CHESTER, July 9. ? Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Etta Killian Bass, 78, widow of Joseph Timothy Bass, who died Friday at the home of her nephew, Joe Jefferson Davis, in the Shleton community of Fairfield county, will be conducted Sunday morning at 11:30 from Calvary Baptist church, Chester county.
Conducting the services will be the Rev. J.I. McGill, pastor, assisted by the Rev. James Henry Yarborough, of Chester, Former pastor of the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bass spent most of her life in the Baton Rouge community of Chester county.
The body was borught to Barron?s Funeral home here where it will remain until 10:45 Sunday morning.
Mrs. Bass was a member of Calvary church, and in former times when she lived in that section was one of its outstanding members and leaders. She had been making her home with her children in late years, visiting them in Athens, Ga., Greer, Spartanburg and Chester.
Surviving are the following children: Avery Sumter Bass of Green and Spartanburg; John Joe Bass of Chester, and Henry Lee Bass, Sr., of Athens, Ga., and a borhter, John A. Killian of Armenia, and 13 grandchildren.
She was a native of near Chester, being a daughter of the late Henry Killian and the late Mrs. Kate Lipford Killian.
