Archibald Washington Bass Jr. and Elizabeth Houser, were married in McCracken Co., KY at the home of her parents on Dec. 24, 1865. Archie as he was called was b Mar. 6, 1844 in McCracken County, the son of Archibald Washington and Mary Allen Bass, Sr.
Archibald Washington Bass, Sr., called Archer was born in Chesterfield Co., VA around 1805/09. He came to McCracken County, in 1828 with his wife Mary Allen, who was b. 1810 in Dinwiddie Co., VA, and her father, Epps Allen (see Allen).
Archer and Mary had five children.

Mr. Bass Sr. farmed 128 acres in the area that was later known as Wallace Park.
After the death of Mary in 1864 in McCracken County, Archer married Eliza Watkins on Jan. 13, 1866 in McCracken County. They moved to Wickliffe, KY where they had two sons, James and Joe.
Archer?s death date is unknown.
Elizabeth Houser, the daughter of Christian S. and Rebecca Harper Houser (see Houser) was b. Jan 16/25, 1842 in McCracken County.
Archie sold the land that was left to him from his mtoher?s estate and bought a farm near Fremont in 1872. He was a farmer and stock dealer.
They had seven children.

William Johnson b. Sept 13 1868 d. Apr 22, 1958 m. June 29, 1893 to 1st Dora Lofton, m. Oct. 17, 1905 to 2nd Annie Allcock, m 3rd to Charlotte Dean. William was a physician and surgeon in McCracken County.
Mary E. died as infant.
Rebecca Bird (Birdie) b Mar. 26 1871 d. Dec. 10, 1945, m Mau 19, 1892 1st to Ephraim I. Nance, m 2nd to Tom Newton.
Rozella Catherine (Kitty) b Sept. 2, 1974/75 d May 12, 1959, m Dec. 15, 1888 1st to John Clinton Boaz, m 2nd to ?Bud Gibson.
Alice b. Mar. 16, 1876/77 m Dec. 21, 1897 1st to W.A. Thompson, m Oct. 23, 1899 2nd to Tom Newton.
Christian Cratus b Aug. 23, 1878 d. Dec. 20, 1942, m July 14, 1896 Flora Thomas Housman.
Archie and Elizbeth were members of the Primitive Baptist ZChurch.
Archie died at his home of pneumonia on Apr. 10, 1924, lived only a few months after his death, on Nov. 14, 1924 in Paducah, KY. Both are in Old Houser Cemetery, McCracken KY. Submitted by Bettie Bass Tate.
