Bass Rites Are Held At Rocky
Last rites for Steward Bass Rocky pioneer were held at 2 o?clock today at the Christian church in Rocky with the Fish Funeral home in charge.
Bass died Saturday afternoon after about a week?s illness. He was 78 years old, and had lived on his farm near Rock since the opening of this country to the white man.
He drew the farm in the government?s huge lottery. Bass was well-known in Hobart and Rocky.
Survivors include his widow, there sons, Clarence of Blanchard, Arthur of Rocky and Sidney of Lindsey; and four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Ashby, Blackwell; Mrs. Mabel Pendergraft, Blanchard; Mrs. Della Gorgas, Stillwater and Mrs. Chloe Mullins, Oklahoma City.
Burial was in the Rocky cemetery.

Rocky Pioneer Died Saturday
James Stewart Bass, pioneer Rocky resident, died Saturday at his home in that town.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Rocky Monday afternoon with the Rev. Vaughn of Cordell officiating. Burial was in the Rocky cemetery.
Bass came to this section of the state before the opening and homesteaded a farm one mile south and one and one-half miles east of Rocky.
