Services Set For Mrs. Montgomery
Greenwood - Mrs. Thelma Montgomery, life resident of Greenwood, died at 7 o'clock Thursday morning after being in failing health for seven years. She resided at 244 Beech View Drive.
Funeral services have been planned for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the J. C. Wilson Funeral home. The Rev. William Williams, pastor of the Greenwood United Presbyterian Church, will be in charge of the services and burial is to take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday night from 7 to 9 o'clock, and any time after 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon until time for the services, to which they are invited.
Attended Greenwood Schools
The daughter of the late John and Ida Rush Branaman, Mrs. Montgomery was born on Nov. 12, 1899, in Indiana. She attended the Greenwood schools where she graduated from high school.
Her first husband was Maurice Bass, who was accidentally killed in 1937, and on May 20, 1944, she was married to Evon Montgomery.
For 15 years Mrs. Montgomery was employed by the L. S. Ayres Company at Indianapolis.
She was a member of the Greenwood United Presbyterian Church, Greenwood chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
The survivors with the husband are a son, John Mark Bass, and a grandson, John Mark Bass, Jr.
