Charles Ray Bass, 71, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home Thursday, 7 p.m., with the Rev. Joe Shakour officiating. Committal services will be conducted at Stantonsburg Cemetery Friday at 11 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bruce and Alma Ruth Felton Bass; two brothers, Clarence Newsome and David Lee Newsome.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ruth Hobbs Bass of the home; daughter, Rhonda Webb and husband, Ronnie, of Wilson; son, Bryan Bass and wife, Stephanie, of Pikeville; sister, Alice Floyd and husband, C.A., of Cochran, Ga.; brothers, Bruce Newsome and wife, Sandy, of California, Bobby Bass of Elm City; grandchildren, Logan Webb, Phillip Bass, Riley Webb, Dylan Bass and Macy Bass.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Thursday evening.
