JW was born August 20, 1936, in Jonesville, Louisiana, to the late Jason J. and Queenie (Rowena) Bass. He graduated from Block High School in Jonesville, Louisiana. After graduation JW proudly served his country in the United States Navy. JW then received his Barber's License and was a longtime barber in Joplin. He is lovingly survived by numerous nieces, nephews; as well as a host of extended family and friends. No formal services will be held in Joplin. JW will be inurned in Jonesville, Louisiana, in the family cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
