Lewis Arthur Bass
Lewis A. Bass returned to his Heavenly Father and Savior on January 13, 2017.
He was born December 23, 1936 to Harold Arthur and Elma Lee Bass. He grew up in Ogden. After his graduation from Ogden High School, he joined the United States Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier Lexington in the Korean War.
Shortly after his release from the Navy, he met his eternal companion, Eleanor Larsen. Lewis told her on their first date he was going to marry her and on November 20, 1959, they were married ?

He was born December 23, 1936 to Harold Arthur and Elma Lee Bass. He grew up in Ogden. After his graduation from Ogden High School, he joined the United States Navy. He served on the aircraft carrier Lexington in the Korean War.
Shortly after his release from the Navy, he met his eternal companion, Eleanor Larsen. Lewis told her on their first date he was going to marry her and on November 20, 1959, they were married in the Logan Temple. Together, they welcomed three children into their home: Lewis Harold (Paula), Melanie Jill (David), and Todd Wilford (Linda).
He had a love for all electronics and spent his career in that field eventually retiring from the F.A.A. and Harris Co.
As a member of the LDS Church, he served valiantly in many capacities. His favorite callings were ward clerk, executive secretary, and working in the Jordan River Temple. Lewis loved good music, ballroom dancing, camping, traveling, and always hamburgers!
He is survived by his wife, children, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Thanks go out to Inspiration Hospice, especially to Shane, Luis, and Dottie, as well as to all the caregivers who helped him in his last months.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hunter Village Ward Chapel, 6400 West 3500 South, where a viewing will be held prior from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Taylorsville Memorial Park Cemetery.
