A native of West Point, she was retired from Frito-Lay and a member of the Park Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Francis and Mary Palestine Blair Bassett, and her husband, Robert Byrd. Mrs. Byrd is survived by her longtime aide, Linda Kopetski, Lawrenceburg, Tenn; two brothers, Bill Bassett, Brandenburg, and Joseph Bassett, Louisville; and 11 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Aug. 13 from the chapel of Neal Funeral Home with Rick Cox officiating. Burial was in the Center Point Methodist Cemetery.
