Lewis Gene Bass
TORRINGTON - Memorial services for Lewis Gene "Genie" Bass Jr., 61, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation has taken place.
He died at Community Hospital on Jan. 10, 2007.
He was born March 30, 1945 in Lusk, the son of Lewis Gene and Ruth (Younkin) Bass Sr. He grew up and attended school at Meadowdale until the second grade, when he moved to Torrington, where he finished high school in 1964.
He belonged to a 4-H Club and the FFA and raised and fattened feeder calves. He joined his father in the ranching business and stayed on the ranch until 2000, when he moved to a DSI group home in Torrington.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church in Lusk, the Masonic Lodge No. 49 A.F.A.M. and the Order of Eastern Star No. 43, both in Guernsey; the Shrine Mounted Patrol and Wyoming Consistory No. 1 A.A.S.P.
Survivors include a sister, Jannae Maddox of Guernsey; two nieces, Brandie Cook and her husband Rick of Torrington and Tiffany Johnson and her companion Tommy Ventura of Idaho Springs, Colo.; one nephew and his son Ty and Blake Johnson of Torrington; a lifetime friend, Fred Maddox of Guernsey; three great-nieces and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to Diversified Services Inc. in his honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.
