Joe Bass, 55-year-old Sampson county farmer, was found dead in the woods near his home on Clinton route 6, about 9 o?clock this morning and Dr. Glenn Wilson, Sampson county health officer, who examined the body, reported that death was probably caused by a heart attack. Mr. Bass was returning to his home from a visit to a neighbor?s house at the time he was stricken. Members of his family became alarmed when he remained away for an u7ndue length of time and after a short search found his body where he fell beside the path. Sheriff Lester C. Parker and Dr. Wilson were called from Clinton to make in investigation. They found no evidence of foul play.
