Jewel Virginia Bass
STEVENSVILLE ? Jewel Virginia Bass (Gigi), age 88, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 at the Marcus Daly Hospice, due to complications from congestive heart failure.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter; Jerry Bass and wife Melody of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Fred Bass and wife Bonnie of Tolleson, Arizona; and her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Stan Elzea of Stevensville; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death in 1998 by her loving husband of 52 years, Mabre "Boots" Bass; and in 1999, by her oldest daughter, Linda K. Jennings. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister.
Jewel was born in Soledad, California on May 28, 1926 to the late Maurice A. Springer and Iva Mae (Lamon) Springer. She was born second of eight children, and leaves two sisters: Joyce Jordan of Olalla, Washington and Lois Rumrill of Redding, California.
Jewel was a devoted Christian mother who loved her family and friends. She was benevolent in giving to many charities of various types. She enjoyed working in the yard, scrap-booking, card making, and other handcrafts.
Interment will be in Auburn, California at the New Auburn Cemetery. Memorial Service is pending. Condolences may be left for the family at dalyleachchapel.com.
