  Notes	Rocky Mount Telegram, North Carolina, Thursday, 17 September 1970 Mrs. Ara W. Bass Mrs. Ara Williams Bass, 82, died this morning in a Wilson hospital. A native of Nash County, she was daughter of the late Henry C. and Ellen Bryant Williams and made her home at Rt. 1, Spring Hope. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope. Surviving are one son, Weldon D. Bass of Wilson; six daughters, Mrs. Rachel Alford and Mrs. Jean Farmer, both of Wilson, Mrs. Nell Edwards of Greensboro, Mrs. Willie Freeman of Nashville, Mrs. Idalene Taylor of Alabama and Mrs. Lucille Grad of Wendell; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the home, Rt. 1, Spring Hope, until one hour prior to services. Johnson Funeral Home in Rocky Mount is in charge.
