Bessette, was conducted at 9 a.m. today from the A.G. Bovin’s Sons Funeral Home, 70 Congress St., Cohoes and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Anne’s Church, Waterford, where a Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated by Mrs. Bessette’s brother-in-law, Rev. Harvey J. Bessette, pastor of St. Jean Baptiste Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Adrien J. Bechard, pastor of of St. Marie’s Church, Cohoes, a cousins of Mrs. Bessette, was decaon and Rt. Rev. Msgr. Augustin J. Surprenant, pastor of St. Anne’s Church, was subdeacon. Rev. Celas A. Robitaille, pastor of St. Josephe’s Church, Cohoes, was master of ceremonies. Joseph G. Hervieux presided at the organ and sang during the Mass, rendering “Domine Jesu Christe” at the offertory and “Hark, Hark My Soul” at the conclusion. Bearers were Henry J. Bessette, Donald B. Bouchard, Ernest J. Bessette, Raymond C. Hayes, Arthur J. Bessette and Peter C. Bessette. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford, where Monsignor Surprenant officiated, assisted by Father Bessette. Members of the Ladies of St. Anne Society of St. Anne’s Church visitied the funeral home last night and were led in the recitation of the Rosary by Monsignor Surprenant. A delegation also attended the Mass. At the funeral home last night also, members of the choir of St. Joseph’s Church, Cohoes, were led by Father Robitaille in the recitation of prayers. Father Bessette also led in the recitation of the Rosary. Delegations were present from the Cohoes office of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., the Watervliet Arsenal and the Cohoes Barberettes.
