She was born on April 11, 1944 in Columbus County, the daughter of the William Gordon Bass Sr. and Lafayette McCall Bass. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Gordon Bass Jr. Her funeral arrangements will be announced by Peacock Funeral Home. She is survived by one son, Charles Kelly Ranson of Whiteville; four daughters, Theresa Smith of Whiteville and Crystal Gayle Long and husband, Brad, of Lake Waccamaw, Marsha Fields and husband, Johnny, of Evergreen, Linda Alambis of Bladenboro; three sisters, Sue Ball and husband, Mitchell, and Patsy Guyton and husband, Earl, both of Whiteville, Sandra Tatum and husband, Grady, of Bladenboro; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
