He was born in Iredell County Sept. 20, 1964, son of the late Charles Edward (Doc) Bass and Betty Malcolm Bass of the home. He was a self employed mechanic, an avid race and football fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by 1 son, Joshua Rick Bass and a daughter, Jessica Michelle Bass Fox, one brother, Randy Bass and a sister, Robin Bass Anderson all of Statesville. Service are scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Westmoreland Chapel with burial to follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Betty Bass, 146 Duck Creek Rd.
