Robert ?Bobby? Lee Bass
Robert "Bobby" Lee Bass, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He was born April 16, 1933 in Nash County to the late Vessie Lee Bass and Annie Leigh Matthews Bass. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by brothers Myron Bass, Milton Bass, Dan Bass and Neil Bass. Bobby dearly loved his family. He was a member of the American Legion for 50 plus years and a charter member of Momeyer Ruritan Club where he received the Tom Downing Award. He was a very active member of Momeyer Baptist Church, especially with Baptist Men. Also he was active in community service. He helped organize Momeyer Rescue Squad and served as Chief. His family gave land for Momeyer Fire Department. He was part of V. Lee Bass and Sons with his brothers. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane Bass; sons Robert Edd Bass and Matthew Lee Bass. A graveside service was held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chris Sorenson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Momeyer Fire Department or Momeyer Baptist Church.
