Charles Lindbergh Bass
Charles Lindbergh Bass, 86, of Momeyer, died Sunday, June 9th 2013. He was born May 15, 1927 in Nash County to the late Alvarado Hinton and Eddie Thomas Bass, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Smith Bass; two daughters, Alva Ann Bass of Union County and Jennifer Bass Dunn of Winston Salem; four grandchildren, Teresa Moore (Jay) of Charlotte, Margaret Bowen of Southport, Thomas Moore (Jennifer) of Boiling Spring Lakes and Stephen Dunn of Winston Salem; and four great-grandchildren, Maggie Bowen, Daniel Greenfield, Mary Moore, and Jacob Moore. He was predeceased by three brothers, Eddie Thomas Bass, Jr., Ruffin Perry Bass, and James Larry (Billy) Bass.
Charles was a lifelong farmer, gardener and master woodworker who got much joy from sharing his produce and beautiful wood creations with family and friends. He served in the US Navy in World War II from May 16, 1945 to July 19, 1946. He was a member of Momeyer Baptist church where he was a deacon and sang tenor in the choir as long as his health permitted. He was a member of American Legion Post 0091 and a charter member of Momeyer Ruritan Club.
Friends may visit with family on Tuesday evening, June 11, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Momeyer Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at 11:00 AM at Momeyer Baptist Church with interment following at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials are suggested to Momeyer Baptist Church, 4967 Momeyer Way, Nashville, NC 27856.
