After serving 4 years in the US Army stationed in Germany he married and settled into the Nashville Community. He always led a quiet life owning RL Bass Store serving his community for nearly 6 decades. He always had a story or information about the community and was especially interested in local and world politics. Many in the community may remember the Christmas boxes that were filled with candy, fruits and nuts. Once a thriving country store that eventually gave way to larger grocery chains. Up until the last two weeks dad still waited on customers coming by for conversation and hoop cheese. He will be missed at Bass Cross Roads where he planted vegetables and kindness through service to others.
