Gladys E. Bass
Gladys E. Bass, 80, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006. Born in Chesterfield County, she was the daughter of the late Logan and Pattie Stansbury Wilcox. She spent most of her life living in North Carolina where she worked as a seamstress in a garment factory. Mrs. Bass was a widow but is survived by her daughter, Joyce Delbridge of Colonial Heights; granddaughter, Katherine D. Stokes of Chesterfield; grandson, Duane A. Dolan and wife, Valerie of Dinwiddie; great-grandchildren, Kristen Stokes, Scott Stokes, Heather Dolan, Madison Dolan, and Jesse Dolan; a beloved cousin, Ruby King of Spring Hope, NC; and her beloved dog, Shep. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Saturday, April 15, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. Gladys was the daughter of Berry Logan and Pattie D. (Stansburg) Wilcox. She was born 11 May 1925 in Chesterfield, Virginia.
She married (1) Dorsey Faucette.
She married (2) Loomis A. Pounds.
She married (3) Yancey Southall Coleman on 1 Jul 1964. They were divorced 23 Feb 1966 in Chesterfield, Virginia.
She married (4) Mr. Bass. Mr. Bass had a son named Ricky according to a Wilcox relative.
Joyce Ann Pounds, age 16, daughter of Loomis Albert Pounds and Gladys Wilcox, married James Edward Hollis, III, 19 May 1960 in Emporia, Virginia.

Loomis A. Pounds
Loomis A. Pounds, 50, of 7 Court St., Ettrick, died early this morning in Petersburg General hospital after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Pounds was a native of Johnston County, N.C., but had been in Ettrick for about nine years. He was an employe at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. here, and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Ettrick. Mr. Pounds was the son of the late Albert and Maggie P. Pounds.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys E. Pounds; two sons, Bobby Ray Pounds, of Richmond, Dennis Loomis Pounds, with the Army in Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Dolan, of Ettrick, two sisters, Mrs. Marvin Strickland, of Raleigh, N.C. and Mrs. Buddy Jones, of Richmond; two brothers, Leamon Pounds, of Richmond, Albert Pounds, Jr., of Richmond, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights. The Rev. Glenn Baun, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, Ettrick, will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. Friends may call at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home after 5 p.m. this afternoon.
