Elmer Bass
BASS, Elmer - Of Clio, age 84, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio with Pastor Earl L. Fisher officiating. Burial at Pinegrove Cemetery in Arbela Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unity of Faith Church in Flint. Elmer was born June 9, 1923 in Holland, Arkansas to the late Sterling and Lilley (Bowie) Bass. He had resided in the Clio area since 1971. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. Elmer married Marion Hillsman on September 10, 1977. He was employed with Pepsi Cola for 28 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Unity of Faith Church in Flint. Surviving are: wife, Marion; 3 sons, Roy (Nancy) Bass of Clio, Joseph Bass of FL, Rodney (Barb) Bass of Flint; 3 stepchildren, Wayne (Vickie) Warren, James Warren and Cheryl (John) Crump all of Millington; grandchildren, Christine, Brian, Jimmy, Kimberly, Joseph, Christopher, Michael, Travis, Terry, Brandon, Chad, Robbie, Melissa, John, Christopher, Cynthia and Gordon; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
