Virginia Lenora Bass
Services for Virginia Lenora Bass, 89, will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in Harvey-Douglas Chapel with Johnny Elmore officiating. Interment will be in Milo Cemetery.
Born Sept. 13, 1918, in Poolville, to Mack F. and Maggie Byrd Bailey, she died on Nov. 25, 2007, in Ardmore. She and Lon J. Bass were married on Aug. 2, 1944, in Waurika. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 20, 1975, her parents and seven brothers.
She married Lon J. Bass and with this union were his children, John, James, Carl and Dean Bass and Marie Roberts, Betty Shelley and Melba Patrick.
A resident of Ardmore since 1967, she was a homemaker and foster grandmother with the Children's Shelter for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Cormany, Wilson, Edda Willingham, Tishomingo; a son, Bobby, Borger, Texas; sister, Margie Brooks, Ardmore; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Grandchildren will serve as bearers.
