Norma ?Jo? Bass
Norma "Jo" Bass, born September 27, 1934, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 after a long, valiant battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at her home with her loving husband Buddy at her side. Buddy and Jo met in 1956 in Irondale, Alabama at the ice skating rink. They became friends and soon after fell in love and later married in 1962. Jo was a long time resident of Homestead, FL. Jo was born in Irondale, AL, where she spent the early part of her life growing up. Buddy and Jo enjoyed a wonderful 48 year romance and marriage.
She was predeceased by her father, Norman Hinton, her mother, Thera Hinton, her brother, Jerry Hinton and her sister, Fay Hinton.
Jo was loved by so many people. Never a stranger did she meet. Jo leaves behind the entire Bass Family, the entire Shiver family, her sister-in-law, Mae Hinton and her cousins, Joy Sisk and Kay Channell.
A viewing will be held Wednesday Sept 15, 2010, from the hours of 5-7 pm at Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Thursday September 16, 2010 at 10:00 with the service to follow at 11:00. The address is 27100 Old Dixie Highway, Naranja, Fl. 33032.
