Funeral services for Forrest Marion Bass, 76, were Tuesday, October 3, 1995, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Roland Tidwell officiating. Services were under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Homne, Bristow.
Interment will be today, Wednesday, October 4, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebr., under the direction of Carpenter Memorial Chapel, North Platte, Nebr.
Bass was born December 6, 1918 in Avant, Okla., to Charlie and Iva Bass. He died October 1, 1995, at his home in Bristow.
He married Bessie D. Winters April 11, 1948, in Powell, Wyo. He was a resident of Bristow since 1969, having come from Ringling, Okla. He worked for Atlantic Richfield as a pumper for 32 years before retiring in 1985.
Bass was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Union, and he attended the Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mary Lynn Bass, Caddo, Okla.; one daughter, Mary Ruth, of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Eimer Seals, Nowata, Okla.; five sisters-in-law, Ellen and Elmer Seals, Newata, Okla.; five sister-in-law, Ethel Butolph, Vera Butrick, and Ells Leeds, all of North Platte, Nebr., Pearl Osborne, Cody, Wyo., and Bernice Andreason and her husband, Don, of Alma, Nebr., six grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
Bass is preceded in death by one son, Charlie; his mother and father; one brother, Willis; and one sister, Aurelia.
