Roy Ellis Bass Sr.
September 15th, 1930 ? March 8th, 2026
Roy Ellis Bass Sr. was born on September 15th, 1936, to Jessie and Minnie Bass. He passed away peacefully with his family present on March 8th, 2026, at the age of 95. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he demonstrated the same dedication and courage that defined his life. On October 15th, 1954, he married the love of his life, Gladys Ferrell, and they shared a beautiful 66-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support until her passing in 2020.
Ellis enjoyed a long and rewarding career, retiring from Owens-Illinois (now known as Packaging Company of America) after many years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his two beloved sons: Roy Bass of Madison Florida. Roy is the father of three children: Ryan Bass of Madison, Melissa Bass and Travis Pope of Tallahassee, and Ross Bass of Tallahassee. Roy's grandchild and Ellis' great grandchild Brayden Lee Pope.
Andy Bass (wife Heather) of Spring Hill, Florida. Andy and Heather are the parents of Jessica Bass of Spring Hill, Florida and Joshua Bass of Trinity, Florida. He is also survived by two brothers: Charles Bass, Jerry Bass and wife Christine. A celebration of his life and visitation took place at Beggs Funeral home on March 13th, 2026 at 10 a.m. with funeral services at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 11 a.m. The family is grateful for the love and support that has been shown during this difficult time.
