Mrs. Grace Lord Howard, wife of J.D. Howard, of Tavares, Florida, died at the home of her son-in-law, Fred Bassett, in Eustis, Florida on the fifth of September in the 61st year of her age. Mrs. Howard was visiting at the home of her daughter when she suffered an attack of intermittent fever from which she died ten days later. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Freedom Lord and was born and grew to womanhood south of Conneautville. After her marriage, the family home was for a score of years in Venango county, the closing years in Oil City. From that city they moved to Kansas, and four years ago to Florida. She leaves beside her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Bassett of Eustis, Florida; Mrs. Frank Lawrence of Chaunte, Kansas; and Miss Mabel, at home, and one brother, Mr. F.L. Lord of Conneautville, the only surviving member of his father's family of seven children. The remains, accompanied by Miss Mabel Howard and Mr. Bassett, were brought to Oil City, and the funeral was held in the M.E. Church at Rouseville on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Howard was on a business trip to Mortlach, Saskatchewan, at the time of his wife's death, and was unable to attend the funeral, as eight days would be required to make the trip here. From this vicinity the following relatives and friends were in attendance at the funeral: F.L. Lord, Myron Ransom, Mrs. Julia Moore, Miss Mary Lucas of Conneautville; Miss Mollie Jolly and Miss Almira McClure of Dicksonburg, and Mrs. Warren Needham of Watson's Run.
