Bassett-Orr
A wedding of abiding interest to the young people of Brenham, owing to their acquaintance with and friendship for the bride, occurred at Farmers Branch, Dallas county, Wednesday evening, the contracting parties being Mr. John Orr and Miss Eleanor Bassett The bride is a former resident of Brenham, being a sister of Miss Gilmore Bassett and of Mrs. R.J. Swearingen and Mrs. Ida Harris, the latter of whom was in attendance at the nuptial ceremony. The Banner expresses the sentiments of a large circle of friends in extending congratulations and best wishes.

Funeral Held For Mrs. John T. Orr
Wife of Cotton Association President is Buried Friday Afternoon
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Fairmount and Mahon Streets, for Mrs. John T. Orr, 46 years old, wife of John T. Orr, president of the Texas Farm Bureau Cotton Association, who died at her home, 4206 Rawlins street, North Dallas, at 6 oâ??clock Thursday morning after an illness of several years. Dr. T.O. Perrin, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Orr are her husband, one son, William Bassett Orr, and three daughters, Misses Nellie and Bylma Orr and Mrs. Ben Mahoney; her mother, Mrs. M.J. Bassett of Brenham and three sisters, Mrs. Cal Botts of Houston, Mrs. Arthur Young of Hillsboro and Mrs. R.J. Mushaway of Corpus Christi.
Mrs. Orr had been a resident of Texas since her early childhood. She was a daughter of Lieut. Jeff Bassett of the cavalry, Cobb's Legion, Hampton Brigade, Army of Potomac. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Active pallbearers were R.S. Hawes, R.L. Mullins, A.G. Schuler, C.O. Moser, L.H. Luna and Carl Brown. The offices of the Texas Farm Bureau Cotton Association were closed Friday in respect to Mrs. Orr. All affiliated associations also were closed.
