A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Hubert and Willie Mae Bass. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Margaret Stamey Bass, and their children. No formal services will be held per Mr. Bass' request. Instead his simple request was that everyone pray for those souls which are lost. Cards may be sent to the family at P.O.
