Charles Calvin Bass Sr.
Charles Calvin Bass Sr. 84, of Dugspur, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at Northern Hospital of Surry County.
He was born in North Carolina to the late Walter Henderson and Rozella Combs Clark Bass.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hall Bass of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Melvin Huffstickler of Procter, Texas; sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Bass of Flippin, Ariz., and Charles Calvin Jr. and Camilla Bass of Mooresville, N.C.; step children and spouses, Edith and Glen Freeman of Laurel Fork, Donnie and Janet Harris of Rocky Mount, Janice and Pat Davis of Stoneville, N.C., and Melvin and Dorothy Hall of Laurel Fork; brothers, Samuel Morris Bass and Bernard Bass, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ray Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 6 until 8 p.m.
