Barbara Bass
Mrs. Barbara Bass of Ashford passed away Wednesday Feb. 28, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness. She was 62.
Mrs. Bass was born on Dec. 4, 1944, in Houston County. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cowarts and enjoyed being a homemaker with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Bass; brothers, Hayward Braswell, M.L. Braswell, J.W. Braswell, Charles R. Braswell and Homer Lee Braswell; parents, C.L. Braswell and Sarah Lashley Braswell.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Vance and wife, Connie of Webb, John Bass and wife, Rhonda Hartford; two daughters:, Jennifer Campbell and husband, Jeremy of Hartford, Starla Davis and fiance, John Harrison of Phenix City; three sisters, Blondell Tice of Abbeville, Sara Parker and husband, R.V. of Dothan, Faye Gamble of Ashford; two brothers, Harold Braswell and wife, Candice of Ashford, Jimmy Braswell and wife, Dean of Ashford; grandchildren, Cayla Bass, Shawn Bass, Brandon Bass, Haley Bass, Marshall Scott, Joshua Davis, Hunter Campbell and Jaylee Campbell; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Bass's special friends Margie Meyers and John Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Kent-Thornton-Meadows Funeral Home of Dothan. Officiating will be the Revs. Rex Kornegay of First Assembly of God Church in Ashford and DonClark of Rainbow at Midland City.. The interment will be held immediately following the service at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joshua Davis, Brandon Bass, Shawn Bass, Marshall Scott, Alan Braswell and Jimmy McCall. Honorary
pallbearer will be Hunter Campbell.
