William Donald Bass
LITTLE ROCK -- William Donald Bass, 45, of Little Rock died Dec. 20, 2002 of emphysema. He was born in Montgomery, Ala., to the late Roy D. Bass Sr. and Janie Estelle Wells Bass. He was the brother of the late Roy D. Bass Jr. of Arkadelphia.
Don attended Little Rock public schools, graduating from Hall High School in 1975. He attended UCA in Conway and received a degree in electronics from Arkansas College of Technology in 1983. He was employed by Lin's TV-VCR Service as a technician for the past eight years. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, reading and visiting with family and friends. Don's sense of humor helped to bolster the spirits of those around him during his long illness.
Survivors include: His wife of 20 years, Betty Lindsey Bass; son, Steven Wayne Bass; stepsons, Gene W. Frase III and Christopher Brian Frase, all of Little Rock; one granddaughter, Jordan Leigh Frase; two brothers, Dr. John Robert Bass and wife, Lynn of Little Rock and Dr. David W. Bass and wife, Anna of Ponchatoula, La.; a sister-in-law, Betty Givens Bass (wife of Roy Jr.) of Arkadelphia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Don and Sherry Lindsey of Jasper, Texas, and Harry and Nancy Neal of Hot Springs; an aunt, Doris W. McMillan and husband, Mac of Shreveport, La.; two uncles, William T. Wells and wife, Lois of Spring, Texas, and W. Holley Wells and wife, Leaila of Baytown, Texas; 13 nieces and nephews, DeeDee Lindsey Core, Michael David Lindsey, Erin, Michael and Andrew Holliday, Terri Bass McMaster, Wendi Bass Boyles, Kimberly L. Bass, Lauren Bass Elam, Ryan, Janie, John and Sarah Bass; one great-niece, Emily McMaster and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Dr. Russell C. Hildebrandt and Dr. Tom Wolbrecht officiated the funeral service today at Christ Lutheran Church in Little Rock with burial following at Givens Cemetery near Sparkman. Pallbearers were David Lawrence, Larry Don Lindsey, Roger McMillan, Dr. Robert McMillan, Bob Morton, Harry Neal, W. Holley Wells and Edward Zap. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran High School, 315 S. Hughes, Little Rock, Ark. 72205 or the American Lung Association.
