Ladon D. Bass
Mr. Ladon D. Bass of Green Street in Enterprise passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, at the home of his daughter, Sharon Bullock, 517 E. Watts St. He was 82.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, from Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Cliff Quincey, Hubert McWaters and Donny Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Barbour County. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Monday at Salem Baptist Church. At all other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Sharon Bullock.
Mr. Bass was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Barbour County to the late David D. and Mary Frailish Bass. After moving to Enterprise at an early age, he attended what was then the Campground School on Shellfield Road. Now, that same location is known as Salem Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He was retired from Sessions Peanut Co. after 43 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty (Kat) Rainey Bass, Enterprise; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bob Bullock, Enterprise; one granddaughter, Beth Warren and husband Paul, Enterprise; one great-grandson, Clayton Warren; three sisters, Ann Stinson, Ruby Greene, Verdell Goodson and husband Billy Jim, all of Enterprise; 12 nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews.
