Virginia A. Bassett
Mrs. Virginia A. Bassett, of Mathews, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2004, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Raymond Bassett. For many years, they were the owners of Bassett Music and Gas Company in Mathews, where they also sold furniture. She is survived by one sister, Louise A. Bailey of Baltimore; two nieces, Robin Crawford of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Shari Rodgers of Maui, Hawaii; and one nephew, Charles R. Anderson of Bohannon. Mrs. Bassett was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 9, in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery, Miles. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8;30 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, c/o Gerald Jones, North, Virginia 23128. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge of the arrangements.
