      Miss Grace Sykes Bride of Harold E. Bassett at Home Wedding
      Miss Grace Sykes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sykes, of Fine, became the bride of Harold E. Bassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bassett, of this village, at the home of the bride's parents at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 2. The ceremony was performed by Mr. Bateman of Christ church as the bridal party stood before an archway of ferns and garden flowers.
      Attendants were the bride's sister, Miss Ida Sykes, and William Mannington, cousin of the groom. Only immediate members of the family witnessed the ceremony. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Ross Bassett and Mrs. Mervil Bassett sang. The bride wore a gown of white silk crepe and carried a bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley, tied with satin ribbon, while her maid of honor was attired in white georgette and carried yellow souvenir roses. The occasion marked the 33rd anniversary of the bride's parents who were married in the same home. For going away outfit, Mrs. Bassett was dressed in a yellow crepe gown with accessories to match. After a wedding trip through the Adirondacks, the couple will reside in Harrisville, where the bridegroom is in business with his father.

      Annual Bassette Reunion Held
      Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mannigan, Mr. and Mrs. Varick Sanford, of Potsdam, and Ross Bassette, were host and hostesses at the annual Bassett reunion held at the Lar Parr camp at Lake Bonaparte on Sunday. A picnic dinner was served at 2 p.m. followed by a short business meeting.
      The officers elected to succeed John Bassette, president; and Mrs. William Mannigan, secretary and treasurer; were: Mr. Ross Bassette and Mrs. Harold Bassette, respectively. Games. swimming and boating were enjoyed.
      Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mannigan, Mr. and Mrs. WIlliam Mannigan, Ross Bassette, Mrs. Carrie Bassette, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Bassette and children Keith, Jeannie and Dana Rae; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bassette and daughter Joyce; Mr. and Mrs. John Bassette, of Harrisville; Mrs. Minnie North, of Conifer; Mr. and Mrs. Mervil Bassette and children Evelyn Ann and Paul, of Adams Center; Mr. and Mrs. William Bassette, Blanche and Janet Bassette, of Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bassette and children Eudora, Beth, Jack and Birdie, of Watertown; and Mrs. and Mrs. Varick Sanford, of Potsdam.
