Born in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kenny Bass and Patty Ham Bass, wife of the late Leslie E. Coburn and mother of the late Frances Ruth Coburn. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, William "Bill" Hughes. Along with her husband, they owned and operated the former Coburn's Grocery. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends Friday one hour prior to the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Mrs. Coburn is survived by her daughter, Shirley Hughes; a brother, Alvin Joe Bass; grandchildren, Wanda Hughes, Cary and wife, Kim Hughes, and James Hughes; and two great grandsons, Alex Hughes and Jordan Hughes.
