Brewer-Bass
Wilson, June 15. ? The wedding of Miss Lucinda Bass and Mrs. Selby Brewer took place Monday at 11 o?clock at the home of the bride?s parents near New Hope. Only a few intimate friends and relatives of the contracting couple were present to witness the ceremony.
Mrs. Brewer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bass, of New Hope and is a very attractive young lady.
Mr. Brewer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brewer and is engaged in the mercantile business with Mr. George Dew at New Hope.
Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for a wedding trip to Wilmington and upon their return will be at home with the bridegroom?s parents.

Lucinda Bass Brewer
Lucinda B. Brewer, age 101, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Selby Brewer Sr., and daughter Ada Catherine Griffin. Lucinda is survived by son Selby Brewer Jr. and wife Gretchen of Wilson; daughters Barbara Jean Williams of Wilson and Janice B. Phillips and husband Edgar of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; sister Mary Elizabeth Baker of Wilson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Stephenson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund 5142 N.C. Hwy. 58 N. Wilson, NC 27896. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home 2704 Nash St. North Wilson, NC 27896.
