Dr. Bass retired from the DuPont Co. in 1983, after thirty-nine years of service. He began his career with the company as a Research Chemist in Richmond. Dr. Bass received his B.S. Degree from the University of Richmond and his PHD in Chemistry from the University of Virginia. He was born in Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Mary Owen Bass; a son, Kenneth C. Bass III, Great Falls, VA; a daughter, Mary Katherine Haynes, Hershey, PA; a sister, Genevieve Frey, Daytona Beach, FL; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Friday, September 4 at Christ Church Christiana Hundred. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth C. Bass, Jr. Endowment Scholarship Fund, University of Virginia, PO Box 9013, Charlottesville, VA 22906-9013.
