Ray Edward Bass
Mr. Ray Edward Bass, 59, of Hickory, passed away on January 1, 2024 at his residence.
Ray was born on July 4, 1964 in Catawba County to Opal Singletary Bass and the late Milton Bass.
Ray was a beautiful and kind soul and loved everyone he met. You never saw him without a smile on his face and his hugs would take every ounce of sadness that you felt away. He loved working on cars, fishing and being down by the river. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and loved his mama with his whole heart.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers Howard Bass and Wayne Bass.
Survivors include his loving mother, child: Makayla Barnes Lizaragga, granddaughter: Leilanii Luna Lizaragga, siblings: Bobby Bass, Roger Bass, and Keith Bass, nieces: Christy Cannon, Stacy Phelps, Casey Bass, and Courtney Starnes, nephew: Robbie Caldwell, great nephews: Colton Daugherty and Jackson Starnes, and great nieces: Caylee Cannon, Amiya Haggins, Christiney Haggins, and Callie Daugherty.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
