Dorothy Virginia (Randall) Bass passed away on December 9, 2020, at the age of 89. She was born on October 25, 1931 in Edna, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Braxton Bass; parents, Albert and Bessie Randall; sister, Joan Crisp, and mother-in-law, Wilma Pearl ?Billy? Harwood. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Duane Bass, Wayne Bass, Bobby Bass (Olga), Tamara Lynne Garner (Gary), Kenneth Bass (Beverly), Jana Renee Tracy (Jimbo) and Sharon Ann Bass; sister, Laverne Todd; brother, Albert Charles Randall; 12 grandchildren, William, Andrew, Jennifer, Rebecca, Kelli, Dustin, Brooke, Nicholas, Christopher, Stephanie, Brandon and Randall; 20 great-grandchildren, Fox, Layla, Silas, Henry, Everette, Levi, Tahlia, Luke, Clara, Dylan, Ella, Liam, Bria, Hannah, Jeremiah, Levi, Ethan, Cady and Braxton; numerous nieces and nephews, and her puppy, Laci.
Anyone who met Dorothy knew instantly that she was a kind, loving, beautiful woman. She had seven kids, but the number doesn't end at seven. She had a positive influence on her grandchildren, great grandchildren and all the "old neighborhood" kids who ran in and out of her home for several years. When you visited her at her old Nash Blvd. home, you knew you would be eating like a king and enjoy the best desserts EVER. If you had a problem, she would listen without judgement and offer her words of wisdom. She was wonderful, smart, funny, kind, courageous, and caring to say the least. We were blessed beyond measure to have her as our mother. Her family would like to thank Anthology of Stonebridge and Provista Healthcare for taking such good care of her during her illness. She will be missed immeasurably.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
