Bennett Bassett Kirk Jr.
Stuart, Florida - Bennett Bassett Kirk, Jr., passed away at 82 years of age with Hospice Care at Parkway Health and Rehabilitation in Stuart on May 30, 2010.
Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, he lived in Stuart for ten years coming from Chatham, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and Korea. He attended Utica College.
He was a past two-term President of the Stamford Board of Realtors, Inc. and a member of the Stamford Insurance Board of Directors. He was also past President of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers of Fairfield County, member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, member of the St. Lucie River Chapter, Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution, member of the Hall-Bryan Post 10132 Veterans of Foreign Wars, 32nd Degree Mason in the St. Martin's Lodge, A.F.&A.M., Chatham.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Leach Kirk, by his son Kim B. Kirk, five grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his son, Peter G. Kirk.
Memorial services and interment are private.
