Gary George Bass

Gary Bass, 75, of Schuylkill Haven, died on Friday, November 22, 2024, in Schuylkill Haven. Born in Hazleton and formerly of Tamaqua and Virginia Beach, he was the son of the late Lester, Sr. and Evelyn (Keich) Bass. Gary graduated from Tamaqua Area High School in 1966 where he was a member of the track and field team before continuing his education at Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. A Master Plumber and a chronic workaholic, he was the owner of G. Bass Co., a business specializing in plumbing, heating, and HVAC. Gary had a love of John Wayne and Star Trek movies. He enjoyed fishing, playing chess, and was dedicated to doing the best for his family. Gary is survived by two daughters, Jessica Bass of Schuylkill Haven, and Tora Wolfe of Pottsville; a son, Gary, and his wife Katie of Reading; a brother, David and his wife Vicky of Baldwinsville, New York; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Lester Bass, Jr., and a sister Diane Ontiveros. Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Call from 9-10 AM at the funeral home.
