Elois Bass Cooper
Elois Bass Cooper went home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. She was a long standing member of New Life Church, Hampton, Va., where she faithfully served as an Elder's wife, Worship Team member, Sunday school teacher, choir director, and numerous other capacities throughout the years.
She leaves to treasure her precious memories, her devoted and loving husband, Rev. James A. Cooper, of 43 years; one son, James Derwin Cooper of Philadelphia, Pa.; daughter, Marcia Kaye Wright (Javier) of Newport News, Va.; and a vibrant granddaughter, Leah Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruzer and Caressa Bass; two sisters, Lucressa Royster and Annie Nottingham; and one brother, Elvidge Bass. Other survives include five siblings, Alverta Bethea (James) of Newport News, Va., Elsie M. Noel (Charlie) of Ft. Washington, Md., Angle Williams (Rivers) of Harrisonburg, Va., Eunice Gilchrist (Leonard) of Richmond, Va., and Curtis Bass of Baltimore, Md.; as well as many other loving relatives and caring friends.
The viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at New Life Church, with Bishop Lawrence Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
